Technology just keeps on growing…sometimes this is a good thing, sometimes not. The jury is still out on this one but after a young Texas engineer successfully made a one shot .380 pistol on a 3D printer the craze has started to sweep the world. It’s only a matter of time until this technology grows enough to actually make fully functioning multi-shot weapons that can go through metal detectors and other security devices. Just this past week UK police found parts to such weapons along with a 3D Printer in a gang raid. There’s a lot you can do with plastic and we’re doing some great things here at Presco. We haven’t hit the “morality line” yet in anything we produce but in my opinion this guy definitely has. Being committed to advancement of science is important but it’s also important to make sure that our advancements do not lead us down the wrong road. This technology could easily lead to criminals or terrorists using weapons in all sorts of ways they cannot do right now. Is it therefore wrong to release the technology? I’m not sure. What do you think?
