In January of 2016, Presco opened the doors to a full time on-site health clinic for employees and their covered dependents.
Presco’s purpose statement of “Your First, Best Place to Buy and Our Last, Best Place to Work” incorporates not only the commitment we make to our customers but also to the employees that make Presco great. For many years Presco has prioritized the health and well being of Presconians, especially preventative care. It was discovered that a major hurdle to preventative care was the time and cost associated with getting to the doctor. Owners Waymon McMackin, Joe Hardt and human resources leader Tammy Watkins started the process years ago to determine if Presco could offer an on-site solution to this hurdle.
Just 5 months after Waymon’s sudden death, the Nomyaw Clinic opened in January 2016. The clinic was named in Waymon’s honor (Nomyaw is Waymon spelled backwards) and is a joint effort of Presco and Group and Pension Administrators (GPA). Joe dedicated the clinic in a ribbon cutting ceremony attended by Waymon’s widow, Sharon McMackin, as well as employees and community leaders.
The Nomyaw clinic is staffed full time with extended hours to accommodate different shifts and is available to all medical covered employees and dependents ages 5 years and older. The clinic is also available to non-medical health plan employees only. The staff includes a board-certified Family Physician, a certified Physician Assistant and a Medical Assistant.
For just $10 per office visit for medical covered employees and dependents and $30 for non-medical covered employees, treatment options are:
Colds and sore throats
Allergies and sinus problems
Ear/eye infections
Rashes
Blood pressure checks and management
Diabetes management
Asthma management
Hearing screening
Sprains/strains
Onsite lab tests
Prescriptions
Physicals
Well Woman/Well Man exams
Monthly preventative special programs are also available – June Healthy Summer Program.
Presconians are encouraged to make appointments so that they can been seen with little to no wait and for a fraction of the cost. The hurdle of time and cost keeping our employees from getting to the doctor is gone with the Nomyaw Clinic….Our Last, Best Place to Work!!!
