“Presco endeavors to gather data, working closely with our suppliers, to assure we meet environmental and regulatory requirements necessitated by our customers, Federal, State, and Local governments as it pertains to our products.”—Stephen A. Hutcheson, Ph.D., Technical Director of Presco Products

It is true that the safety and security of our consumers and their families are of the utmost importance to us here at Presco. This is why we exercise extreme diligence to ensure that our products meet all regulatory compliance guidelines before they make it into your hands.

With that said, California’s Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) and the California Environmental Protection Agency (CalEPA) have determined that By August 30, 2018, all manufacturers, distributors, and retailers of consumer products must place clear and reasonable warning labels/signs on items which contain any chemical known to cause cancer, birth defect, or reproductive toxins. Some of these chemicals are found in everyday things that you may not give a second thought, such as Coconut Oil, Whole Leaf Aloe Vera, Unleaded Gasoline, Aspirin, Wood Dust and possibly even some of your favorite beauty products. Although, this may seem alarming, don’t fret too much, the American Cancer Society clearly states “…not all of them are known carcinogens (known to cause cancer) by groups and experts outside the state of California. This means that not every compound labeled as a possible cancer-causing substance has been proven to the worldwide scientific community to actually cause cancer.”For more detailed information on these chemicals, please view the OEHHA list here.

In keeping with Presco’s “integrity first” attitude and stellar reputation, we place great importance on making our clients aware of the latest product safety guidelines. So, don’t be surprised if the next time you place an order for roll flagging, marking flags or whiskers, you find it labeled according to New California law.
