We just got this in from one of the groups that we support and wanted to share it.  This is from Hannah Greenstreet from  the Live Violence Free organization.

April is a big month for Live Violence Free in South Lake Tahoe. Live Violence Free is a domestic violence and sexual assault agency that promotes a violence free community through education and advocacy to address domestic violence, sexual assault, and child abuse. April is national Child Abuse Prevention and Sexual Assault Awareness Month. The entire month is dedicated to honoring victims and survivors of both child abuse and sexual assault. With 80 percent of sexual assault victims being under the age of 30 and a report of child abuse made every ten seconds, Live Violence Free is working to educate and raise awareness on a local level.

Thanks to Presco’s generosity and willingness to help make this month special, Live Violence Free planted 1,000 Presco marker flags throughout the community. The blue flags honoring child abuse survivors will be displayed throughout the community at the following locations: The City of South Lake Tahoe, Lake Tahoe Community College, The Public Library, Boys and Girls Club, and at our office. Photos of the project are shown here. Live Violence Free would like to thank Presco for their commitment to supporting child abuse prevention and for being part of our community-wide awareness activity.
